Every year, Upstate International kicks off Upstate International Month with a large-scale gala event. This year the event will be “Cocktails & a Twist!” and JAASC will be there demonstrating “Tanko Bushi,” a traditional folk dance from Kyushu (which you may recognize from our own annual Bon Dance Festival! The annual Upstate International Month kickoff and fundraiser gala is their biggest event of the year. This year it’s an epic dance party featuring international cocktail tastings, appetizers, and dances from around the world. Instead of a typical silent auction, there will be a 100 for $100 surprise package raffle.
