Preparing For The Future

The Japanese Saturday Schools help Japanese ex-patriot students maintain and advance critical language and curriculum to ease the transition returning to Japan to complete their education or attend university.

JAASC assists in funding and operating the Greenville Saturday Schools (GSS), located at EastLink Academy in Greenville, SC. The school has been in operation for more than 30 years.

Curriculum that includes Japanese language and literature, mathematics, and other essential classes.

How It Works

Though enrollment is open to all Japanese students, many students enrolled in the K- 12 program of the Greenville Saturday School are the children of Japanese employees of Japanese-owned companies in South Carolina.

GSS holds a three-term school year following the Japanese schedule. Instruction consists of 4 hours of education each Saturday morning.

For children too young for school, GSS also offers a Play Circle group during GSS hours for parents and their children. Visit the GSS website for more information and to learn how to enroll.
